The normal form method in the local qualitative theory of differential equations

Abstract:

The tutorial is the first part of the original course "The normal form method in the local qualitative theory of differential equations" which is given by the author for students specializing in ordinary differential equations.
Various simplifications of an autonomous system in a singular point neighbourhood by formal invertible changes of variables and the reducing the system to a system in the normal form (or more complex analogs) are discussed. Particular attention has been given to real systems and transforms.
The tutorial is meant for students and postgraduate students of mathematics and mechanics faculties of universities.
