The papers of the jubilee scientific conference "Herzen readings – 2016" devoted to 70-th anniversary of professor Valentin Fedorovich Zaitsev, 11–15 April 2016. The conference was organized by the departments of mathematical analysis and computer engineering and programmotechnics of the Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia. The papers embrace lectures of 4 sections: “Modern problems of theory of ordinary differential equations”, “Modern problems of the function theory and functional analysis”, “Actual problems of mathematical education” and “Actual information systems and modeling technologies”. The results of the papers are desirable for lecturers, students and postgraduate students of mathematical faculties.
